15. National u13 Academy
On 20 September the top South African u13 players will be landing in Pretoria – bags packed with enthusiasm and energy. Each player has received a special invite from the Province and was selected on their performance over the year. The criteria were not soy based on results, but the 5 P’s = Perseverance / Participation / Perspiration / Preparation / Performance.
The team of coaches at TuksSquash have hosted this Academy many times and have perfected the formula in getting the youngsters to love the game, and start thinking about high schools squash as well as playing on a higher level in the years to come. sessions are planned according to the strength of the players and each group has a specific coach dedicated to their improvement over the 4 days. Although the program is a 24 hour squash program, the activities are varied and tapered to the energy levels of the players. There is going to be a lot of fun and life long friendships are built over the weekend.
The World of Squash coaching team have a good stock of equipment from Foot-workers to ball machines, ladders to hurdles, parachutes to skipping ropes and the regular trips to Australia has equipped the coaches with the SPASS BASIX SKILLZ program. This program has proven itself over the years and can claim 16 Proteas.
The youngsters are under 24 hour supervision and the team of coaches (supported by students from the Univ of Pretoria) have spent hours planning the weekend.
We look forward to hosting these future champions and look forward to them applying what they learn and succeeding on the junior circuit as well rounded skillz players
